Description: Woodland phlox is a must have for every native and non-native perennial garden. This well-
behaved Midwest native plant grows 12-16” tall and slowly spreads to form a mat of beautiful and
FRAGRANT spring blooms. The plant prefers soils with organic matter and part shade to full shade,
however, performs best in the part shade setting. Post flower the stems can be cut back for a cleaner
look. When in bloom the flowers are frequented by many pollinators but most notable are the sphinx
moths. You can smell the sweet fragrance of a large planting as you walk by it.
