Description: Wild petunia is a short statured warm season perennial plant that thrives in sunny dry
situations where other plants fail. It doesn’t compete well with other tall flowers but grows nicely
among other short plants. The plant blooms mid-summer and continues to bloom for a few months. If
you have this perennial for several years in your garden, you will notice the seed germinating elsewhere
in the garden. As the pods dry in the fall the seeds will launch several feet away! Re-seeding with this
species is generally not seen as aggressive or problematic.
