Description: Pussytoes is an amazing native groundcover, or green mulch, that performs best in sunny,

dry sites. There are several native Antennaria to the upper Midwest. However, Antennaria

plantaginifolia performs the best as a native groundcover due to its larger basal leaves than Antennaria

neglecta. It has showy flowers in the spring, but its best attribute is its ability to cover ground. It greens

up early in spring and stays green late into the fall. Deadheading of the spent flower stalks gives the

plant a better appearance. This plant is also a host plant to American lady butterfly caterpillar.
